Caroline Buckland MILCM, Managing Director
Caroline joined in 2008 and is CILCA qualified. Caroline joined the company after 20 years experience in local authority employment, with the latter years working as a Deputy Clerk for the largest Parish Council in the Country. Her experience has been gained from extensive use of the Finance and Administration packages whilst working for the Parish Council and has since developed a "behind the scenes" understanding of the mechanics, capabilities and usage of the software solutions offered by RBS. Caroline's CILCA qualification offers a support system to Clerks who use our software and wish to ensure they are meeting all the regulations required of them and their Council.
Kevin Hicks, Technology Director
Kevin is in charge of future technology direction. He has over 15 years experience developing and implementing Software Applications in both the Public and Private sector. He has worked with numerous Central and Local Government departments, in addition to various Blue Chip Organisations. He uses that knowledge to drive the future direction of our software and technology platforms. Ensuring that our software strategy aligns to the ever involving demands of the technology landscape. Kevin has a Bsc (Hons) 1st Class in Computer Science from the University of Wales, Swansea.
Software Support Team
Roger Farmer, Senior Software Support Consultant
Roger leads our support team, and his ability to be calm under pressure especially at year ends is gratefully received by our clients. Roger joined the team with a 20 year background in IT, including a building society and a content management company, focusing in process analysis and design, gaining qualifications in various software, as well as being Microsoft Certified in Excel. When not in work, Roger's time is mostly spent providing a taxi service to his 12 year old son who plays for the local ice hockey team, shuttling him around the south of england
Mark Sylvester, Technical Support Consultant
Mark joined us in September 2016 and has worked in IT since receiving his degree in Computing Science in 1998. Mark has worked in various role over nine years for an automotive software company and was IT Manager at laundry company for seven and a half years.
He has a wide range of skills, including Microsoft products, Unix, hardware maintenance and backup methodology.
Mark's interests are reading, Film & TV, American Football and Ju-Jitsu. He lives in Swindon with his wife Kim and daughter Evie.
Ray Campbell, Software Support and Finance Consultant
After spending 22 years in the Army, where he finished his time as a Regimental Accountant, Ray added to his wealth of knowledge as the Finance Co-Ordinator for a multimillion pound International Christian charity based in Wiltshire. On redundancy, he joined RBS as a Financial Consultant involved in training on our finance systems Alpha and Omega. Ray returned briefly to the Charity Sector in 2016 but we are glad to welcome him back to RBS as a Support Consultant. Ray works on the Support Help desk, looks after Databank and undertakes the training of new Clerks when required.
Finance and Administration Consultants
Kathy Percival - Finance Consultant
With 10 years experience with a large Town Council as a Finance Officer, Kathy became self employed and began Consultancy training for clients on the Alpha and Omega financial software progammes in 2005. Qualified as an Accounting Technician Kathy provides Finance Consultancy, primary during the Year End period.
Steve Durrands - Finance Consultant
Steve joined the RBS in 2012. He is a Senior Financial Manager with a successful track record in contributing significantly to all aspects of business. His experience incorporates all areas of accountancy using a wide range of IT platforms within a large variety of businesses. He has been employed within the Accountancy profession for over 30 years and besides his experience he possess a part qualification in CIMA. In addition he possess an abundance of patience and a good sense of humour.
Maria Crocker - Administration and Support Consultant
Maria joined RBS in 2017, having previously worked for Large Parish Council as Head Receptionist in their busy Leisure Centre for 13 years. Maria was looking for a new challenge and was delighted to join the RBS team. Maria has enjoyed learning the RBS Administration packages, working alongside her patient and friendly colleagues in the RBS support team. She enjoys visiting our clients to instal, train and setup the Bookings, Allotments and Cemetaries software. Maria is looking forward to meeting more of customers in the near future. When not on client sites, Maria assists with Support on the Administration packages.
Alan Purvis - Finance Consultant
Alan joined RBS in 2017, having worked within the Finance sector for over 20 years for various private sector companies. He has wide and varied knowledge of Purchase Ledger, Reconciliations and experience of Training staff on new computer systems. Alan now provides setup, training and consultancy on our Alpha and Omega Accounts packages.
Stuart Wilbur – Finance Consultant
Stuart has worked in the public sector since 1996, and currently works for us on a sub contractor basis. A qualified accountant, he has extensive knowledge of the accounting practices in the Public Sector. Stuart covers Year End closedowns for some of our larger councils.
Jan Wilbur - Consultant
Jan joined the company in 1983, and currently works for us on a sub contractor basis. Jan covers Year End closedowns for our clients.
Karen Singleton - Finance and Administration Consultant
Karen has 8 years’ experience in Town Council Finance. She spent 16 years at a Large Town Council, latterly as RFO, before branching out on her own as a Consultant. Karen has worked regularly on Omega, Bookings, Sigma and Allotments during this time. She is a fully qualified ACCA accountant and has been providing consultancy for RBS since 2017 doing training and Year End Close Downs.
Software Development and Testing Team
Ben Malings, Developer
Ben has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Wales, Swansea. Ben has been with the company since 2008 and works remotely. He has worked behind the scenes updating, enhancing and improving our software packages and is available at short notice to answer programming questions and queries that may arise direct from our offices.
Sean Smyth, Software Testing
Sean has been with the company since 1996 and provides an excellent front line software support service and is our resident “guru” for all our Financial Director and Administration packages. Sean retired in May 2016 from the Support Help Desk and now does remote testing of our software.
